I was never going to become a collector of railway traffic lights, I understand them less than superficially, so I will be grateful for any clarifications and explanations regarding this device from more knowledgeable people.

So, its story. The shunting dwarf two-digit traffic light, of which I am currently the temporary custodian, came to me almost by accident, at least without any initiative from my part, after I purchased my first shunting traffic light. Thus I learned that traffic lights tend to multiply after at least one of them appears at home :). This traffic light was presented to my friend by her acquaintances, who, in turn, took the poor fellow out of the ZiL plant, which was being demolished over the past two years. There it stood at the marshalling yard of the railway shop with the designation M22. It was found already tumbled to the ground, dented, with broken external lenses (apparently with an excavator), and a torn off cast-iron base, which was attached to the concrete foundation. For the rest, however, whole and quite workable.

I more or less straightened its visor, inserted a new upper outer lens, did not touch the lower one, because despite the web of cracks, in my opinion, it is of collectible and historical value. This lens (LS-160) has a fixed deflecting insert in the center. Indirectly, it serves me in determining the age of traffic lights. In particular, a collector who has been looking for a similar lens for 13 years reports that such lenses have not been produced since about the mid-70s.

The traffic lights use: two ZhS 12-15 lamps with P24s/17 base, vertically installed in front of the lenses and signal transformers ST3 of the Kaluga Electrotechnical Plant: one from 1968, the other from 1969.

Thus, I assume that this traffic light hit the ZIL plant in the late 1960s (in those years, a large-scale reconstruction of the plant and an increase in its production area was taking place) and has been working safely to the last day.
