SLA 40 (Electrofar)

Romanian starter in a polyethylene case with a small hole, found in one of the PVLM luminaires from the Kaunas Radio Plant (KRZ).

S10 (Philips)

Probably the very last junk I've dealt with. It starts 36-watt tube poorly, and with 40W tubes is just a nightmare. At KRZ, after the fire, they threw off a full truck of lamps, which I dealt with in my shed. It turned out that many of them cause some problems. It is dated about 2005-2006, as those basements made of European-quality rubbish burnt in 2005.

HFG-2 (Tungsram)

Hungarian Tungsram starter for ignition of a single 4-22W lamp at 127V or same tandem lamps at 220V.

FS-U (Лисма)

Once again, as I've got a bunch of New Year's garlands, I began to restore them. One of them had a starter wrapped in blue duct tape. I thought that this again would be another Smolensk starter to go for operation in PVLM luminaires. I unwound the electrical tape, and there was such a rare export version of the starter. Fortunately, the garlands didn't kill it.

80С-220-3 (Свет)

Modern starter made out of plastic. Works together with LB tube. Range is 4-80W. Length: 35,5mm. Diameter: 21,2mm.

A full box of starters from the KRZ storerooms. Full production date is indicated on the factory label. No differences from the 80C-220 without an index were noticed. The box with the label and all 50 starters are one indivisible exhibit.

I experimented with this starter on how quickly it ignites T8 and T12 tubes in PVLM and other luminaires. As it turned out, PVLMs are not reliable with T8 in any way, and the same starter in different luminaires worked well.

I don’t remember where I got it from, the body was slightly damaged. Such Saransk starters are especially rare in our country.

A full box of starters produced on August 21st, 1986, with the factory export label for 25 pieces, and the usual starters with a state price of 30 kop. From the stocks of KRZ, where all the Razno and Svetex ones were sent for "disposal" to PVLM luminaires. The box with the label and all 50 starters are one indivisible exhibit.
